My apologies for the long delay in posts. We are down a person at work, and my teammate and I have been working hard to ensure all of our elementary schools are well-supported. Rest assured, I have been busy creating and implementing creative ways to integrate technology into learning!
This post focuses on using technology and art to create fun, engaging learning opportunities. Let's jump in and discuss the activities driving student engagement and learning.
Using the native camera app on a Chromebook, first-grade students went outside to take pictures of a new setting for a story they read. Then, they used the markup tool to draw a new character the original story characters could play with. Each student explained how their setting and character would interact with the original story characters.

A student sneakily took a picture of their teacher to incorporate into the story!

I'd hang out with this character on the monkey bars.

Can you guess what this character wants to play?

Another fun activity integrating art and technology with academics was our second-grade water cycle project! Over three weeks, students researched the water cycle, created posters demonstrating their new knowledge, and programmed Dash robots to retell the water cycle. Check out these videos of students presenting their posters and water cycle facts!

The best part of these activities was the students' enthusiasm to participate and do it again. I encourage you to try integrating art and technology to see your results. Until next time....have fun integrating!
